Web Applications
The Internet Is Our Operating System
Delivering just a marketing focused web site is not enough in the information age. Web users expect a level of interaction beyond just link clicking and flash animations.
In software engineering, "Web Applications"—sometimes called a Web app or webapp's is an application that's accessed with a Web browser over a network such as the Internet or an intranet.
Web applications are popular due to the ubiquity of the browser as a client, sometimes called a thin client. The ability to update and maintain Web applications without distributing and installing software on potentially thousands of client computers is a key reason for their popularity.
Web applications are used to implement webmail, online retail sales, online auctions, wikis, discussion boards, weblogs, all manner of business software and many other functions.
Whilst previously hyped, webtactics believe we are only at the beginning of the Web app phase in technology terms. Products such as NetSuite have the ability, and chance with the increasing broadband speeds to fundamentally change the way we do business.
As a company that lives online, webtactics is very excited about the future for web applications.
